1. Who We Are

Taskidee ("we", "our", or "us") is a family task management application operated from Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at legal@taskidee.com with any privacy-related questions.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the service:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash)
• Children's profiles — names(firstnames-only advised), ages, and avatar selections you create for your children
• Task data — the daily task lists and completion records you create and interact with
• Billing information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never store your card details

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and improve the Taskidee service
• To process subscription payments via Stripe
• To respond to support inquiries
• To send important service-related notifications (no marketing emails without your consent)

4. Children's Privacy

Taskidee is designed for parents to manage their children's routines. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. All accounts are created and managed by parents or guardians. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secure cloud database (MongoDB Atlas) hosted in Canada or the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and httpOnly authentication cookies. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Taskidee:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to billing data.
• Render — application hosting
• MongoDB Atlas — database hosting

We do not sell your personal information to any third party, ever.

7. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent and request deletion of your account and all associated data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@taskidee.com or delete your account directly from the Settings page.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data — including children's profiles, task history, and billing records — is permanently deleted from our systems. Any active Stripe subscription is cancelled at the same time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Taskidee after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
